Correspondence Course for Updating the Tai Chi for Health Programs

Introduction

The correspondence course is only available to people who have difficulty attending a face-to-face one day update workshop. The fees are the same as the update workshop, ie 50% of the current two-day workshop fee. However, if participants are doing more than one update at a time, then the second, third, and fourth update will be charged at a much lower rate and capped. Please contact the Master Trainer who certified you at the last workshop with:

  • Date and location of your last workshop and/or a copy of your certificate
  • The reason why you cannot attend an update workshop

Alternatively, you can send the information above to Dr Paul Lam to update your certification.

Your Master Trainer or Dr Lam will send you a list of assignments. Complete your assignments within 6 months from the date of receipt and return the completed assignments together with the fees to the Master Trainer or Dr Lam.

If you have met the course requirements, an update certificate will be issued to you within one month. In the unlikely event that have not meet the requirements, your Master Trainer will assist you and then ask you to resubmit. You can resubmit your assignment an additional two times. If after the third attempt you have not met the requirements necessary to pass the course, you will need to retake the certification training and pay all associated fees.

The instructional DVD and the book “Teaching Tai Chi Effectively” by Dr Paul Lam, are required references for the update. You can purchase these through your Master Trainer or Tai Chi Productions online at www.taichiproductions.com

There is an appeal panel – the Harmonising Committee of the Tai Chi for Health Institute Board should there be any complaint with this process. The fees for appeal are 50% of the course fees. If you are found to be unreasonably treated, your fees will be fully refunded. Please contact the board through service@taichiforhealthinstitute.org if you would like to appeal.
