Details

Dr Paul Lam's team merged medical research and traditional Chinese Medicine to create this new tai chi programme. Heart conditions are the number one killer in the western world and studies show tai chi improves heart health.  Anyone can enjoy this innovative mind body programme - it can be taught safely and effectively to people with heart conditions.

At the conclusion of the workshop

  • Learn how to teach this programme safely and effectively.
  • Gain knowledge of what is Tai Chi and how it helps people with heart conditions.
  • Be able to perform the Tai Chi for Heart Conditions set.

Who is eligible to attend this training?

Suitable participants include: Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Tai Chi teachers and advance tai chi students, Nurses, Health professionals (eg doctors), Accredited Exercise Instructors, Certified Allied Health Assistants.

Tai Chi for Health updates

Current instructors can request Tai Chi for Health certificate updates with advance notice and submitting an assignment one month prior to the workshop.  Cost: $40 per programme.

Your trainers:

Rani Hughes is a Melbourne based Occupational Therapist, while Rosalie Rudduck is a Toowoomba based Physiotherapist.  Both are Master Trainers in many of the Tai Chi for Health programmes within the Tai Chi for Health Institute and have presented instructor training workshops together in both Melbourne and Toowoomba.

Preparation:

Each participant needs to be familiar with the movements inthe Tai Chi for Heart Conditions programme (DVD available for $29.95) and the textbook "Teaching Tai Chi Effectively" by Dr Paul Lam (available in hard copy $21.95 or e-book $9.95) before coming to the workshop.  These products are available from Tai Chi Productions in Sydney Phone: 02 9533 6511 or www.taichiproductions.com

Board Certification:

Following successful completion of this workshop, you will be required to register to become a Tai Chi for Health Institute Board certified instructor in Tai Chi for Heart Conditions before teaching the programme (if not already a member).  Annual fee is $25 (Standard Membership) or $45 (Premier Membership) regardless of the number of certificates you have.

Cost

Instructor Certificate: $430 (early bird $410 if paid in full by 27th May 2019).

Attendance Certificate: $330 (early bird $310 if paid in full by 27th May 2019).

Attend both this workshop and Tai Chi for Memory on 4th-5th July 2019 and receive a further $40 discount for each workshop.

Cancellation is subject to a $50 administration fee.

Location

Toowoomba is a beautiful inland city, with a population of around 100,000.  Just 135 kms west of Brisbane, it is the gateway to south west Queensland.  Plenty of accommodation, some good eating spots, parks, museum and opportunities to explore.  With the Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport, it is now serviced by direct flights to and from Sydney, Melbourne and Townsville with bus and shuttle services available from Brisbane as well.
