Tai Chi for Arthritits Update Training Workshop and Tai Chi for Arthritis 2 Leader Training Workshop
1 day re-certification for Tai Chi for Arthritis Leaders/Instructors and qualification in TCA Part 2 form workshop
Leaders of the Tai Chi for Arthritis Program are required to attend an Update Workshop every two years to keep their certification current. This training is for TCA Leaders who have successfully completed the initial two-day TCA Leader Training and kept their certification valid (updated their certification within the last 2-3 years).
This Update provides opportunities for TCA Leaders to improve their tai chi and teaching skills, network and share experience with other TCA leaders and in this workshop also to learn new 9 movements of TCA Part 2 form.
On completion of this workshop participants will receive Tai Chi for Arthritis Leader Update certificate valid for the next two years and Tai Chi for Arthritis Part 2 certificate, valid with TCA qualification.
Preparation: Each participant needs to be familiar with the movements of Tai Chi for Arthritis Program and text book "Teaching Tai Chi Effectively" by Dr Paul Lam before coming to the workshop.
- learn movements from TCA 2 DVD (or from online streaming video)
- read chapters 1,4,6 and 11 at Teaching Tai Chi Effectively book
- for the Update complete assignment, which will be provided
Trainer: Jana Solovka
Jana has been one of the first Tai Chi for Arthritis Instructors trained by Dr Paul Lam to teach Tai Chi fot Arthritis Program. She has been developing and sharing her skills and knowledge at community health and rehabilitation centres with main focus on supporting people with chronic conditions and elderly people. Jana has Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training and has been training new Tai Chi for Health instructors and up skilling the current Tai Chi teachers for 15 years.
