TAI CHI FOR DIABETES INSTRUCTOR TRAINING - April 3, 2022.

This training is composed of a self-paced component and a 1-day virtual training with  Master Trainer Lorraine Noval.  The self-paced component must be successfully completed before the April training.  Please read the details below before registering.

BACKGROUND:

The Tai Chi for Diabetes program was created by Dr. Paul Lam and his team of medical and tai chi experts 20 years ago. Studies have proven it to improve health and quality of life for almost anyone. This program is specially focused on helping people with diabetes manage their condition. It is authentic tai chi with all the attendant health benefits of tai chi. Anyone can learn and benefit from it. This program is based on both Yang and Sun styles, and has the unique feature of 5 levels of exertion.

Taking advantage of the innovations in technology, this training is divided into two stages. Stage 1: Fundamentals of Tai Chi for Diabetes Instructor Training is a self-paced virtual program containing essential material to train effective and safe instructors. All you have to do is to follow the sequence with Dr Lam’s video guides for every step.

After completion of Stage 1, you will be ready for Stage 2:  1-day TCD Instructor Training Workshop to be eligible to become a Tai Chi for Health Institute (TCHI) Board Certified instructor. The Stage 2 workshop will be held on April 3, 2022 online via Zoom.

INFORMATION ABOUT THIS TRAINING:

When you register and pay for this workshop, you will receive a link to the Stage 1 online package that you can complete in your own time and at your own pace. Do enroll as soon as feasible because you must successfully complete Stage 1 before April 3. Stage 1 can take a person anywhere from 10-15 to 40-50 hours depending on your experience.  After completing Stage 1, you will do a recording (on Zoom or an MP4) of your attempt at the TCD routine and forward it to the Master Trainer.  This recording and the system-generated Certifcate of Completion of Stage 1 are your "tickets" to the Stage 2 training.

This Stage 2 workshop is personal. Your Master Trainer will work with you to answer your questions about the program and tai chi routine, help you refine your tai chi movements, and help to ensure you can teach the program safely and effectively using the Stepwise Progressive Teaching Method.  There will be discussions, practice sessions, sharing skill and knowledge, Question and Answer portions, and most importantly personal attention. Your Master Trainer will give you feedback on what you did well and how you can improve your tai chi and teaching skills, connect you to the Tai Chi for Health Institute (TCHI), fellow instructors, Senior Trainers and offer continual support.
