About this class

This program has been designed for people with arthritis, but is open to all. Recommended by CDC and supported by Arthritis Foundations around the world, it is safe and proven effective. Participate in this journey to better health, improve balance, strength, flexibility and tranquility . The slow movements are often described as "meditation in motion". Adaptable for participants both standing or seated and from beginner to advanced.

Tom Scott

Lieutenant (Ret.) Thomas Scott is a retired police officer residing in Sycamore, Illinois located 60 miles west of Chicago. Mr. Scott is also a retired Adult Protection Services investigator from Elder Care Services of DeKalb County. through the Illinois Department On Agings Elder Abuse program. Mr. Scott has studied various martial arts and has a black belt rank in Isshin-Ryu Karate. Mr. Scott has been a certified police defensive tactics and arrest/control instructor. He has been teaching women and childrens safety and self defense programs for over forty years. Mr. Scott enjoys teaching Tai Chi for Arthritis, since Summer 2010 to enthusiastic students in the DeKalb County area. Mr. Scott seeks to make his community healthier and safer through teaching Dr. Lam's Tai Chi for Health programs to all interested persons or special interest groups.
