Russell Mickler

"If Tai Chi can do just one thing—prevent a fall—I feel it’s done its job."

Background: Russell is a lifelong martial artist who believes that balance, mobility, and movement are essential to maintaining a high quality of life at every age. He holds a Black Belt in Shaolin Kung-Fu and a Black-Red (Black Belt candidate rank) in Taekwondo.

Teaching Approach: Direct, accessible, and practical. He brings the principles of an ancient martial art into a modern setting, combining traditional Tai Chi with functional exercises designed to support long-term mobility, cardiovascular health, joint comfort, and physical and mental well-being.

Personal Philosophy: Tai Chi as a practice for aging with grace and energy, helping people preserve the freedom to keep moving, stay engaged, and continue enjoying the things they love. Motion is lotion!
