"About the Depth of Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention"

Monthly Tai Chi for Health Forum - Time Zone 1

SEPTEMBER 2026

Millions of people have learned Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention. Many reach a point of asking what comes next.

Over the last 30 years, Dr Paul Lam has conducted his Exploring the Depth workshop hundreds of times around the world. He has now brought that workshop into an online program, and at the September Forum he will talk about what it contains and why he made it.

Depth, in Dr Lam's words, means going "beyond the physical movements to explore the inner meaning of tai chi principles" and learning how to incorporate them into your forms:

  • Using the Yi (mind or intention) to cultivate the Qi (vital life energy or internal energy),
  • Converting the Qi into Jin (internal force), and
  • Using the Jin to generate a more powerful wave of Qi.

Dr Lam will explain who the program is for, how it can be used alongside a class or on your own, and will teach a section of it live so you can feel the difference for yourself. He will be joined by guests who have worked with this material, sharing what it changed in their own practice and teaching. We will practise together.

Bring your questions. This Forum also marks five years since the first Tai Chi for Health Forum in September 2021.

The main purpose of the Tai Chi for Health Forum is to connect with everyone and to share knowledge and friendship. Each month there will be a theme topic, addressed by Dr Lam and invited expert/s. There will be time for questions and comments sent prior, time permitting. You will also have an opportunity to enjoy meeting other participants from all over the world. It is a great way to learn and share as a member of the global tai chi community. Connecting with other tai chi enthusiasts is so helpful! Afterwards, a link to the recording will be sent to all registered participants.

Registration in advance is required. Please email your questions or topics of interest at least two days in advance to service@drlamtaichiworkshops.com. Please put “Forum” in the subject line.

Be sure to register every month!
