Bio

My Tai Chi journey started in 2015, when my husband, Mike, and I happened across a Tai Chi for Arthritis for Falls Prevention class being taught by then Senior Trainer, now Master Trainer Heather Chalon. I was immediately drawn to the gentle, flowing movements that calmed my mind, body and spirit. Although I was working full-time as a Registered Oncology Nurse, I knew I was hooked and that my life’s journey was about to change.

Since that first chance meeting, I have been fortunate to be mentored by Heather; attending many classes, skill’s development and instructor workshops enriching my tai chi forms, knowledge and teaching skills. I became a Board Certified Instructor in the Tai Chi for Arthritis and Tai Chi for Arthritis for Fall Prevention programs in 2016 and have subsequently added certifications in Seated Tai Chi for Arthritis, Tai Chi for Arthritis Part 2, Tai Chi for Heart Conditions,, Tai for Rehabilitation and Tai Chi for Diabetes. I have attended Dr. Lam’s Exploring the Depth of Tai Chi for Arthritis for Fall Prevention, Enhancing and Depth of Sun Style 73 Forms workshops. In 2018 I was awarded a scholarship by the United States Tai Chi Community to Dr. Lam’s 2019 Annual United States for Health workshop where I completed the weeklong Enhancing Sun Style 73 Forms course. In 2019 I retired from my nursing career in order to dedicate more time to teaching tai chi. In 2020 I was nominated and named as a TCHI Senior Trainer. As I continue on this wonderful tai chi journey, I look forward to my personal and professional growth; sharing my enthusiasm and knowledge with others in supporting the vision Dr. Lam and his Master Trainers have in “making Tai Chi for Health accessible to everyone for health and wellness”.

I currently teach a TCA/TCAFP/TCA2 and Sun 73 class weekly. I also enjoy organizing and assisting MT Heather Chalon, MPH at her skills development and instructor certification workshops.
