Al Fleming
Bio
Al is a combat wounded disabled Viet Nam veteran, having served in the US Army for 15 years with assignments to elite units including the 82nd Abn Div, the JFK Special Warfare Trn Ctr and the US Army Drill Sergeant School.
Al has studied and taught martial arts for over 30 years and holds Black Belt ranks in several styles including Chinese Kenpo and Hung Gar. Owner and Head Instructor of the former Chinese Kenpo Studio in Long Beach, Ca. and founder and owner of Wichita Tai Chi for Health and Wellness in Wichita, Ks.
After years of injuries incurred both in the military and martial arts, Al found that maintaining the vigorous workout and training schedules demanded of external martial arts were becoming more difficult to sustain, especially after developing arthritis, diabetes and injuries to his upper and lower spine caused him to seek less physically demanding exercise and an internal style for health and wellness.
Today, thanks to Dr. Lam's Tai Chi for Health programs, Al is a Certified Tai Chi for Health Instructor, with certification in multiple Tai Chi for Health Programs. Al continues to further his education and Tai Chi experiences thru continued education, on-going certification and Tai Chi for In Depth Training thru Dr. Lam's Tai Chi for Health Institute.
