My Tai Chi and Qi Gong journey has improved my health, flexibility and life balance in general.

After forty years, I still own and run (part time) Teresa’s Academy of Dressmaking and Tuition. Designing, making and teaching students to make made to measure creations for special occasions and every day wear. As a result of all those years, my joints and muscles had become accustomed to sitting and sewing. Luckily my mother inlaw’s Doctor suggested she do Tai Chi for her Diabetes.

My fortunate Tai Chi journey was about to begin. I gladly enrolled both of us in a Tai Chi for Health and WellBeing class because deep down I knew this would be good for me. My mother inlaw insisted the slow movements could not possibly help. With encouragement from Master Jacquie Walther and the group we soon able to do the free flowing movements without being puffed.

Within a few years Jacquie had me instructing the Qi Gong warm up session. Jacquie was asked to conduct another class. She simply did not have the time. So, if I would be so kind as to do this for her, Jacquie assured me, I was ready, I knew and understood enough of the Tai Chi routine to instruct the beginners class. While Jacquie was able to instruct, I continued to learn so much from her, until sadly she had to retire. Thank you very much Jacquie.

Thankfully Jacquie also suggested I enrol in the Dr Paul Lam Tai Chi for Arthritis course at the Arthritis and Osteoporosis Foundation of WA. To be a Certified Instructor a Master Trainer needed to visit Perth. So, I decided to enrol in Tai Chi for Arthritis 1 and 2, Osteoporosis and Energy.

Yet again fortune shined upon me. Once I was a Certified Instructor, the Arthritis Foundation of WA offered me the opportunity to run classes for them. I enrolled in the Sun 73 Form with Senior Trainer Sam Sujutna. After a couple of years Sam most kindly asked me to instruct some of his classes. Sam suggested and explained the benefits of going to Woolongong, NSW to do the Sun 73 Form in Depth with Master Dr Paul Lam. Thank you Sam.
