What is Tai Chi for Beginners?
Dr Lam and his tai chi experts made this program, based on the most popular Yang style 24 Forms Tai Chi, to be learner-friendly. The Beginners set gives students an easy-to-learn format that leads to a solid foundation. The program takes learners on an enjoyable journey to better health and harmony through the power of tai chi, building in steps that incorporate warm-ups, Qigong, stepping exercises, foundation movements, and exploring the connections between movements. It is both a safe and a satisfying program.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
There will be discussions, practice sessions, small group sharing of skills and knowledge, Question and Answer portions, and, most importantly, personal instruction. The Master and Senior Trainers will give you feedback on what you did well and how to improve your tai chi and teaching skills; connect you to the Tai Chi for Health Institute (TCHI), fellow instructors, and Senior Trainers; and offer continual support.

Step 1 - Complete the Self-paced Instructor Preparation Package (SIPP) Program
What is SIPP? - A self-paced virtual program personally studying with Dr. Lam - SIPP Provides the Basic Fundamentals of Tai Chi for Beginners. The SIPP provides the essential material to teach the movements of TCB. It also prepares effective and safe tai chi Instructors. Participants follow the lessons and sequence with Dr. Lam’s video guides for every step. You must purchase and complete the SIPP training to continue to Step 2 with the Master Trainer.
Depending on your experience, the average time to complete the SIPP is 20 to 35 hours when approached at a reasonable pace. Send Bill your certificate before the next Step. Everything you need to begin the SIPP training will be sent upon payment confirmation.
Step 2—Attend Workshop with Master Trainer:
Attend the 2-day workshop to complete recertification for the Tai Chi for Beginner program. TCHI Master Trainers (MTs) worldwide can conduct this training in either a live or virtual format on the Tai Chi for Health Institute (tchi.org) website.
It is recommended that each instructor joins the TCHI membership to be listed on the website as a Board-Certified Instructor and be able to print their official certificate. The cost is about $27 US Dollars per year. Instructions and a link for this payment will be sent to each updating participant as a congratulations letter from service@tchi.org.
