"Tai Chi Walking: Turning everyday steps into Tai Chi practice"

Monthly Tai Chi for Health Forum - Time Zone 2

MARCH 2025

Tai Chi walking has become popular online because it offers a simple way to turn something most of us already do into a more effective mind-body practice. Dr Paul Lam, creator of the Tai Chi for Health programs, shall express what it is, how to do it and share it well. We will be walking together.

For a walk to become "Tai Chi walking", we add key Tai Chi principles: mindful weight shifting, steady balance, an upright and supported posture, relaxed but purposeful movement, and clear awareness of where you are. These principles help the body move more efficiently and the mind become calmer and more focused, so the walk supports both physical health and mental wellbeing. When we add Tai Chi breathing, the internal benefits deepen further.

While Tai Chi walking can be powerful, a well-constructed Tai Chi set (such as those found in Tai Chi for Health programs, or classic sets like Yang 24 Forms and Sun 73 Forms) brings the principles together in a complete, balanced way. It is like comparing a single healthy food to a full, nourishing meal. Doing a full set, especially one of the Tai Chi for Health programs, shall bring you more benefits, enjoyment and fulfilment.

Bring your questions. This forum is designed to help you leave with Tai Chi Walking practice ideas you can use.

The main purpose of the Tai Chi for Health Forum is to connect with everyone and to share knowledge and friendship. Each month there will be a theme topic, addressed by Dr Lam and invited expert/s. There will be time for questions and comments sent prior, time permitting. You will also have an opportunity to enjoy meeting other participants from all over the world. It is a great way to learn and share as a member of the global tai chi community. Connecting with other tai chi enthusiasts is so helpful! Afterwards, a link to the recording will be sent to all registered participants.

Registration in advance is required. Please email your questions or topics of interest at least two days in advance to service@drlamtaichiworkshops.com. Please put “Forum” in the subject line.

Be sure to register every month!
