Tai Chi for Arthritis for Fall Prevention & TCA Instructor Training with Meghan Bryant

Instructor Training course has 2 steps: Fast Track ~ Half the Time

(Because it is only 1 day, Meghan is calling it Fast Track)

Prior Training: SIPP (Previously known as Stage 1)

• Self-paced online lessons with discussions and instruction by Dr Lam
• Codes are sent by Meghan for materials (SIPP & books) to be purchased after payment is received
• Knowledge checks are administered through an online portion to track learning
• A completion certificate is issued to provide for entry into the Fast Track Training Workshop

Training Workshop: review by Master Trainer 

• This portion of the Instructor Training will be onsite for 1 FULL day.  This workshop is designed with New Instructors to this program in mind who prefer a Faster Pace training.  If you are recerting/updating this workshop will work well for you, especially if you have not been able to teach over the past 2 years.

Materials are to be purchased by participants.  (If a group of 3 or more, or from an organization: ask Meghan about ALL included options.)

Must Haves:

• SIPP- Self-pace Instructor Program Portion  
  • approx. 20 hours to complete
  • completion certificate to be turned in before the training date(s)
• Teaching Effectively book
• Tai Chi for Arthritis for Fall Prevention handbook

Optional:

• DVD
• Warm-up & TCA posters

This workshop is designed for independent workers (recerting and new).  There are several required elements to complete and then pass.

The Steps to Success are:

1. Register (Register a minimum of 3 weeks prior preferred):

• Email Meghan if there is any trouble doing so.  
• Meghan will send an invoice to confirm new or updating, allowing Credit Card or check payment to be made
• Discount codes will be given once paid (Please wait for the discounts before ordering!)

2. Pre-Workshop: (Required to have working knowledge before the workshop)

• Receive materials and review them (SIPP, Teaching Tai Chi Effectively book, TCAFP handbook, TCA DVD) 
  • SIPP
    • has a certificate of completion to turn in before entering Stage 2
    • may take 20 hours to review (less than that, more like 5ish hrs for those that have been teaching consistency)
• Share what you have reviewed: attend the practice session the Wed before at 2 PM or another agreed time virtually.

3. Training Workshop: 

• This workshop will be 1 Full day
  • Nov 8(Fri) 9:00 am-4:30pm (on location)
• Post check in's to review form and stepwise on individual scheduling (TBD)

Items needed at the workshop:

 Shoes (low sole preferred with heels covered), Layers for room regulation, pen & paper for notes

To pass, there is a knowledge check & a forms check.  Safety is first in mind, which is why the CDC recommends us, so it is up to the Master Trainer to ensure you have key pieces to keep the Program Safe & Effective.

Invoice will be provided by Meghan, allowing for payments through c.c. or checks.  Once confirmed what is needed, then invoice will be sent and discount codes for materials can be sent after payment.
