Instructor Training course has 2 steps:
Prior Training: SIPP (Previously known as Stage 1)
- Self pace online lessons with discussions and instruction by Dr Lam
- Codes are sent by Meghan for materials (SIPP & books) to be purchased after payment is received
- Knowledge checks are administered through online portion to track learning
- Completion certificate is issued to provide for entry of Fast Track Training Workshop
Training Workshop: review by Master Trainer
- This portion of the Instructor Training will be virtual 1 day and on site the 2nd day. This workshop is designed with New Instructors to this program in mind. If you are recerting/updating this workshop will work well for you, especially if you have not been able to teach over the past 2 years.
This Instructor Training required prep online before the workshop (virtual and onsite details):
Materials: Discount code(s) will be given by Meghan after payment of training for participant to purchase SIPP online training portion & Teaching Tai Chi Effectively book, and Diabetes handbook.
This workshop is designed with New Instructors to this program in mind. There are several required elements in order to complete and then pass.
The Steps to Success are:
1. Register (Register minimum of 3 wks prior prefered):
- Email the Host if there is any trouble doing so.
- Email and address are required so materials can be sent.
- Meghan will send an invoice to confirm new or recerting, allowing Credit Card or check payment to made
2. Pre-Workshop: (Required to have working knowledge before the workshop)
- Receive materials and review them
- Have Completion Certificate of SIPP (formally known as Stage 1) ready to turn in before Taining dates(formally known as Stage 2) dates
3. Workshop:
- This workshop will be virtual & onsite
- May 13 Virtual- 10am-3pm ET
- May 15 Onsite- 10am-3pm ET
- Meghan reserves the right to require a post check in to review form and stepwise on indivdual scheduling if deamed unsafe or more work is required.
More time with a MT as an Immersion options available, so do inquire if that fits your learning better!
They will either include more time in the day, or additional half days to give time for processing.
Items needed at workshop:
Chair without wheels, shoes, snacks (15 min lunch break), pen & paper for notes, and cell phone to text any troubles.
In order to pass, there is a knowledge check & a forms check. Safety is first in mind, which is why the CDC recommends us, so it is up to the Master Trainer to make sure you have key pieces to keep the Program Safe & Effective.
Seating is limited to 12 participants: Seats have host priority and workshop confirmation will offer additional open seats by April 15.
Cost
Invoice will be provided by Meghan, allowing for payments through c.c. or checks. Once confirmed what is needed, then invoice will be sent and dsicount codes for materials can be sent after payment for those outside of the agencies that are hosting.

Recert (within 2yrs): $200
** Additional costs: Materials are purchased by participant.
*** Additional cost: Board Ceritifaction fee after training to TCHI (not Trainer). Current cost: $100 AUS for 2 yrs (this updated Fall of 2025)
