There are two parts to the Tai Chi for Rehabilitation instructor training.
The Self-paced Instructor Preparation Package (SIPP) and a one-day in-person workshop with me.
After you register for the TCR Instructor Training workshop on the tchi.org website, I will give you instructions on how to prepare for the workshop by purchasing SIPP-TCR from www.onlinetaichiworkshops.com - US $80 and send you a code for a 30% discount on this cost. You must complete the Self-paced Instructor Preparation Package for Tai Chi Rehabilitation (SIPP-TCR). You need to allow enough time before the workshop with me to complete the TCR SIPP program. Once you have completed the TCR SIPP program, email me a copy of the final certificate at bghum@internode.on.net. This comprehensive package contains essential material to be a safe and effective tai chi instructor for Tai Chi for Rehabilitation. To prepare, please practice using the included video lessons. Additional webinar videos are included to enhance your tai chi development.
You will have access to the Tai Chi for Rehabilitation SIPP for 3 years.
Pre-workshop requirements:
Dr Paul Lam's " Teaching Tai Chi Effectively" book is compulsory reading before the course. You are also expected to work through Tai Chi for Rehabilitation SIPP before the workshop. The book can be obtained either by ringing Tai Chi Productions on 02 9533 6511 or from the Tai Chi Productions website: www.taichiproductions.com. The e-book is available via the website.
The one-day Live Interactive Training Workshop with me:
During this one-day live instructor training workshop, we will review the SIPP-TCR material, including all movements. Participants are expected to be able to perform the sequence of movements from memory, so follow along with Dr Lam on the SIPP-TCR sessions and practice each section until you can perform the movements from memory before moving on to the next section. Your preparation helps ensure you become certified at the end of the training.
Following the training with me, if you meet the standard for Instructor Qualification, you will be invited to join the Tai Chi for Health Institute. Your membership will provide your Instructor Certification to teach this form. TCHI membership fee is now every two years. Standard Membership is $99, and Premier Membership is $169.
