The TCE program comprises two tai chi styles. Chen style is vigorous and complex, combining fast and slow movements with powerful spiral force. Sun style incorporates unique qigong (life energy) movements with agile stepping. These two seemingly contrasting styles have complementary internal energy.
Drawing on his deep understanding of Tai Chi principles and over 30 years of teaching experience, Dr. Lam has carefully combined movements from the Chen and Sun styles to produce a powerful synergy in Tai Chi for Energy. Thus, with regular practice over a relatively short period, this program will help you improve your health and wellness, internal energy, and stress management.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
There will be discussions, practice sessions, small-group sharing of skills and knowledge, question-and-answer sessions, and, most importantly, personal instruction. The Master and Senior Trainers will give you feedback on what you did well and how to improve your tai chi and teaching skills; connect you to the Tai Chi for Health Institute (TCHI), fellow instructors, and Senior Trainers; and offer continual support.

There are two steps to complete for instructor qualification:
Step 1 - Complete the Self-paced Instructor Preparation Package (SIPP) Program
What is SIPP? - A self-paced virtual program, personally studying with Dr. Lam - SIPP provides the Basic Fundamentals of Tai Chi for Energy. The SIPP provides essential material for teaching the Tai Chi movements in Energy Part 1. It also prepares effective and safe Tai Chi instructors. Participants follow the lesson sequence and accompanying video guides provided by Dr. Lam for each step. You must complete the SIPP training to proceed to Step 2 with the Master Trainer.
Depending on experience, the average time to complete the SIPP is 20-35 hours when approached at a reasonable pace. Send Bill your certificate before the next Step. Everything you need to begin the SIPP training will be sent upon confirmation of payment.
Step 2—Attend Workshop with Master Trainer:
Attend a live, in-person, or Zoom workshop over 1 or 2 days to complete eligibility for becoming a Tai Chi for Health Institute-qualified instructor in the Tai Chi for Energy program. TCHI Master Trainers (MTs) worldwide can conduct this training in either a live or virtual format on the Tai Chi for Health Institute (tchi.org) website.
Each instructor will be invited to join TCHI as a member. You will be listed on the website as a Board-Certified Instructor and can print official certificate.
