What is Tai Chi for Life?
Tai Chi for Life is an easy and enjoyable activity with gentle exercises for seniors and beginners to improve balance, strength and health.
An Empowering Program
Dr Lam’s team has incorporated medical research and traditional Chinese medicine into the ancient art of tai chi to create Tai Chi for Health programs. Tai Chi is shown by over 500 medical studies to improve almost all aspects of health and wellness. This program has special emphasis on improving balance, strength and relaxation. It contains all the health-giving characteristics of tai chi to improve the quality of life for all learners
Who will Benefit?
Anyone can benefit from coming to this workshop. You will enjoy learning this short but beautiful set of tai chi with three powerful styles (Chen, Sun & Lam). With regular practice, you will gain inner strength, stronger muscles, and stronger Qi relatively quickly. You will be able to develop complexity and stronger Jing (force) from learning this program. Tai Chi for Life is suitable for everyone, but especially beneficial for falls prevention.

Note: ANYONE can attend this workshop ... However, to gain the 'Tai Chi Life' TCHI qualification; you MUST have/had a TCH qualification, to apply for an Instructor Qualification. This workshop is also suitable for people wanting to update their other TCH qualification(s).

Step 4 ~ Prepare for the Instructor Training Workshop (work with the DVD(s), read the Teaching Tai Chi Effectively book)
Step 5 ~ Complete pre-workshop paperwork and bring to the workshop (This will be emailed to you after you have enrolled and paid for the workshop)
Step 6 ~ Attend the workshop
Step 7 ~ Become a TCHI BCI (Board Certified Instructor) ... read below

TCHI Board Certified Instructor fee is required on successful certification:
The annual fee is payable direct to the Tai Chi for Health Institute. Following successful completion of the instructor training workshop, you will receive an email invitation to become a Tai Chi for Health Institute Board Certified Instructor (BCI), which is required before teaching the program (if not already a member). Annual fee is $25 AUD (Standard Membership) or $45 AUD (Premier Membership) regardless of the number of certificates you have. A TCHI Board Certified Instructor is a person who has fulfilled the requirements, completed the training of a Tai Chi for Health programme, and is registered with the Tai Chi for Health Institute board. 7. ZOOM Requirements:
- Preparation for Virtual Instructor Training
- You must work with the DVD
- **REQUIRED** - ZOOM TECH CHECK WITH Tamara - be prepared for demonstration
- Participants are required to have a copy of the Teaching Tai Chi Effectively book
- Review the text, especially the chapters on safety, teaching effectively, Stepwise Progressive Teaching Method and Working with Chronic Conditions is part of your preparation.
- Virtual Training Platform: Zoom Meetings – Master Trainer and all Participants will be ‘live and visible’ during the entire training
- 7 Hours of Training (3.5 hours each morning)
- Please download Zoom (you may use the free version)
- Participants must use a tablet or computer with a camera to participate.
- Phones are not allowed as the screen will be too small.
- You must be present for all of the training
- You cannot turn off your camera or put up a photo in place of having the camera on
- We will take frequent breaks
- Participants must have a space large enough that they can be seen from head to toe throughout the workshop.
- If available, I recommend using a USB connection to a larger screen or your television, so you have a larger image.
