Tai Chi for Rehabilitation is modified tai chi for health program that combines positive psychology with the movements, as a mind/body exercise. This program developed by Dr. Paul Lam, is a combination of Yang, Sun and Chen tai chi styles. Chen style is vigorous and sophisticated, containing fast and slow movements along with the mysterious spiral force. Sun style has a uniquely powerful qigong (life energy) along with agile steps. Yang has graceful and slow movements which promotes health. This relaxing set can be done lying, sitting or standing and will help develop your knowledge and inner power of tai chi.
At the conclusion of the workshop
· Learn how to teach this program safely and effectively
· Gain knowledge of what is Tai Chi and how it helps people for rehabilitation
· Be able to perform the Tai Chi for Rehabilitation set
Who is eligible to attend this training?
Suitable participants include: Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Tai Chiteachers and advanced students, Nurses, Health professionals (eg doctors), Accredited ExerciseInstructors, Certified Allied Health Assistants.
Rani Hughes is an occupational therapist and master trainer in various Tai Chi for Health programs. Rani enjoys teaching and has trained hundreds of Tai Chi for Health instructors. She has taught tai chi for over twenty years to a diverse range of people including people with arthritis, diabetes and people experiencing mental illness. She has taught tai chi across Australia, New Zealand, Sth Korea, Sri Lanka and India.
Note: Each participant is required to purchase Tai Chi for Rehabilitation DVD ($29.95) or subscribe to Dr. Lam’s online lessons. "Teaching Tai Chi Effectively" book is compulsory workshop materials by Dr. Paul Lam as a hard copy book ($21.95) or e-book ($9.99). To meet Covid requirements the number of participants permitted will be limited to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all. The venue and organisers will adhere to COVID safe guidelines current at the time of our event observing safe distancing and wearing of masks if required. To comply with COVID restrictions, no food or drink will be provided at the workshop, you must arrange your own. If this workshop cannot proceed face to face due to COVID restrictions, we will transfer the workshop onto Zoom on the same dates.
If the workshop needs to be cancelled on the directions of the Department of Health, the wrokshop will move to Zoom. No refund will be available if the workshop needs to transfer to Zoom platform. General cancellation fee is $75 if cancellation occurs more than 48 hours prior to the commencement of the workshop. No refund is available within 48 hours of the course’s commencement.

If you are attending Day 2 as an update only, it costs $200 for your first update and $50 for subsequent updates.
