What is Tai Chi for Heart Conditions?
Studies have shown tai chi improves most  heart conditions. Heart conditions are the number one killer for the western world, yet most of the conditions are preventable, and can be improved with a healthier lifestyle. Dr Lam's team has incorporated medical research and traditional Chinese medicine into the ancient art of tai chi to create an effective program. It can prevent or improve most heart conditions, as well improve balance, immunity and relaxation.

Preparation

Prepare by working with the Tai Chi for Heart Conditions DVD or the Online lessons and the Teaching Tai Chi Effectively book or ebook as much as possible. The DVD/lessons and book are essential requirements for certification for instructor of this program. Materials are available from taichiproductions.com (20% discount for paid participants, discount code to be given at registration.) 

What To Wear

Wear loose comfortable clothes and flat shoes suitable for exercise. 

Updates

Current instructors can request Tai Chi for Health certificate updates with advance notice and submitting an assignment prior to the workshop.  A fee may apply - check with your Master Trainer.


NB: Assignments submitted late may  incur an admin fee.

Details

Dr Paul Lam's team merged medical research and traditional Chinese Medicine to create this tai chi programme.  Studies show that tai chi  improves heart health. Anyone can enjoy this calming and innovative mind-body programmed - it can be taught safely and effectively to people with heart conditions.

Who is eligible to attend this training?  Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, Certified Allied Health Assistants, Diversional Therapists, Health Professionals, Nurses, Tai Chi teachers and advanced Tai Chi students. 

Your trainer:  Rosalie Rudduck is a physiotherapist and master trainer in teh Tai Chi for Heart Conditions, Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention, Tai Chi for Diabetes, Memory, Osteoporosis and Rehabilitation programmes with the Tai Chi for Health Institute.  She has Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training. Rosalie has worked extensively with people of all ages and has special interestes in fall prevention and healthy ageing. 

Preparation:  Each participant needs to be familiar with the movements in the Tai Chi for Heart Conditions programme (DVD available for $29.95) and the textbook "Teaching Tai Chi Effectively" by Dr Paul Lam (available in hard copy $21.95 or e-book $9.95) before coming to the workshop. Board Certification:  Following successful completion of this two day intensive course, you will be required to register to become a Tai Chi for Health Institute Board certified instructor in Tai Chi for Heart Conditions before teaching the programme (if not already a member).  Annual fee is $26 (Standard membership) or $46 (Premium Membership) and covers Board Certification for all your Tai Chi for Health qualifications.  You will then be listed on the TCHI website.

Instructor Certificate $420 (early bird $400 paid in full by 16th July 2021

Tai Chi for Heart Conditions Update $220 (early bird $200 paid in full by 16th July 2021)

Extra Updates in Tai Chi for Arthritis, Diabetes, Energy, Memory, Osteoporosis and Rehabilitation $45 each with a maximum of $90.

Attendance Certificate $320 (early bird $300)

Location

Toowoomba is a beautiful inland city, with a population of around 100,000. Just 135 kms west of Brisbane, it is the gateway to south west Queensland.  Plenty of accommodation, some good eating spots, parks, museums and opportunities to explore.  With the Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport, it is now serviced by direct flights to and from Sydney, Melbourne and Townsville with bus and shuttle services available from Brisbane as well.
