Instructor Training course has 2 steps:
Prior Training: SIPP (Previously known as Stage 1)
- Self-paced online lessons with discussions and instruction by Dr Lam
- Codes are sent by Meghan for materials (SIPP & books) to be purchased after payment is received
- Knowledge checks are administered through an online portion to track learning
- A completion certificate is issued to provide for entry into Fast Track Training Workshop
Training Workshop: review by Master Trainer
- This portion of the Instructor Training is a review and strengthening of the discussions to confirm that safety & teaching effectively, with consideration of these 2 similar trainings, while maintaining each unique program.
Materials are to be purchased by participants.
Must Haves:
- SIPP- Self-paced Instructor Program Portion
- Approx. 20 hrs to complete
- Completion certificate to be turned in before training date(s)
- Teaching Tai Chi Effectively Book
Optional:
- DVD
- Warm-up posters
This workshop has several required elements to complete and then pass.
The Steps to Success are:
1. Register (Register a minimum of 3 weeks prior to preferred):
- Email the Host if there is any trouble doing so.
- Meghan will send an invoice to confirm new or recerting, allowing Credit Card or check payment to be made.
- Materials are to be ordered by the participant: Wait to receive discount codes after paying the invoice.
2. Pre-Workshop: (Required to have working knowledge before the workshop)
- Order materials and review them(SIPP, Teaching Tai Chi Effectively book, Optional: DVD & poster). Allow at least 2 weeks for this prep work.
- Skill Builder- Feb 25 (Wed) - practice session (virtual) 2 pm
3. Workshop:
- This workshop will be:
- Feb 27: 9.00 am - 5:30 pm
- Post check-ins to TBD- Meghan has the right to determine that more time may be needed.
Items needed at the workshop:
Shoes (that surround the heel), lunch, pen & paper for notes
To pass, there is a knowledge check & a forms check. Safety is first in mind, which is why the CDC recommends us, so it is up to the Master Trainer to ensure you have key pieces to keep the Program Safe and Effective.
Seating is limited to 15 participants.
Cost
The Invoice will be provided by Meghan, allowing for payments through c.c. or checks. Once confirmed what is needed, then the invoice will be sent, and material links can be sent after payment.
1st Recert: $200
2nd Recert: $165
** Additional cost: SIPP for each needed- $56 ea (Please wait for discount codes!)
***After passing the training: A Board Certification fee is to be paid directly to the board. This fee is paid once every 2 years to include all certificates. Current fee: $99 AUS
