Instructor Training course has 2 steps: Fast Track: Half Days ~ Half the Time.
(Because it is Half days, Meghan is calling it Fast Track)
Prior Training: SIPP (Previously known as Stage 1)
- Self-paced online lessons with discussions and instruction by Dr Lam
- Codes are sent by Meghan for materials (SIPP & books) to be purchased after payment is received
- Knowledge checks are administered through the online portion to track learning
- A completion certificate is issued to provide for entry into the Fast Track Training Workshop
Training Workshop: review by Master Trainer
- This portion of the Instructor Training will be virtual and for the 2 half days. This workshop is designed with New Instructors to this program in mind. If you are recerting/updating, this workshop will work well for you, especially if you have not been able to teach in the past 2 years.
This Instructor Training will be virtual and for 2 half days.
New Additional requirements for Zoom beyond Workshop times:
- Prior check-in (tech check and review of form) before workshop to be scheduled on an individual basis after registration for the class.
- Post check-ins to review form and stepwise on individual scheduling
Materials: Discount code(s) will be given by Meghan after payment of training for participants to purchase SIPP online training portion & the Teaching Tai Chi Effectively book, and the suggested Yang 24
Have near you: Chair without wheels, water & snacks (15 min lunch break), cell phone to text any troubles
This workshop is designed with New Instructors to this program in mind. There are several required elements in order to complete and then pass.
The Steps to Success are:
1. Register (Register a minimum of 3 weeks prior to preferred):
- Email the Host if there is any trouble doing so.
- An email and an address are required to send materials.
- Meghan will send an invoice to confirm new or recerting, allowing Credit Card or check payment to be made
2. Pre-Workshop: (Required to have working knowledge before the workshop)
- Receive materials and review them
- Have the Completion Certificate of SIPP (formally known as Stage 1) ready to turn in before the Training dates (formally known as Stage 2).
- Tech Check(1 hr session)- Prepare Technology and Space (Feb 3 or 10)
3. Workshop:
- This workshop will be 2 half days
- Feb 12 12-5pm ET
- Feb 19 12-5pm ET
- Post check-ins to review form and stepwise on individual scheduling (Feb 24 or 25 )
*** Technical issues do arise, and flexibility is needed if sessions are interrupted. Feb 26 is the backup day to allow for adjustments.
More time with a MT as an Immersion option available, so do inquire if that fits your learning better!
They will either include more time in the day or additional half-days to allow for processing.
Items needed at workshop:
Chair without wheels, shoes, snacks (15 min lunch break), pen & paper for notes, and a cell phone to text any troubles.
In order to pass, there is a knowledge check & a forms check. Safety is first in mind, which is why the CDC recommends us, so it is up to the Master Trainer to make sure you have the key pieces to keep the Program Safe & Effective.

Cost
An Invoice will be provided by Meghan, allowing payments by c.c. or check. Once confirmed what is needed, then the invoice will be sent, and materials can be sent after payment.

Recert (within 2yrs): $200
** Additional costs: Materials are purchased by the participant.
*** Additional cost: Board Certification fee after training to TCHI (not Trainer). Current cost: $100 AUS for 2 yrs
