Tai Chi for Rehabilitation combines the qigong of Sun, the flow of Yang and the energy of Chen styles of tai chi in a short sequence designed by Dr Paul Lam and colleagues. It can be done in lying, sitting or standing and is suitable for people recovering from illness, injury or inactivity. It is also a very calming form so is useful to settle everyone in a class following warm-ups. On successful completion of this workshop, you will have the necessary skills and knowledge to conduct safe and effective Tai Chi for Rehabilitation classes in hospital rehabilitation and community settings.

This one-day intensive in-person workshop is the second section of your training with the first section being required reading and a Self-paced Instructor Preparation Package (SIPP).

Reasons to come:

  • Learn how to teach this programme safely and effectively
  • Gain knowledge on the benefits of tai chi and how it helps in rehabilitation and recovery
  • Be able to perform the Tai Chi for Rehabilitation set.

Suitable participants include: Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Diversional Therapists, Lifestyle Coordinators,  Exercise Physiologists, Allied Health Assistants, Nurses, Psychologists and other health professionals, accredited Exercise Instructors, Tai Chi teachers and advanced students who have completed the Self-paced Instructor Preparation Package (SIPP).
