TAI CHI FOR ARTHRITIS/TAI CHI FOR ARTHRITIS FOR FALLS PREVENTION (TCAFP) SELF-PACED INSTRUCTOR TRAINING PROGRAM. 

This training is composed of a self-paced component (Stage 1) and a 1-day virtual training (Stage 2) with  Master Trainer Tony Garcia 
The self-paced component must be successfully completed before attending a 1-day (Stage 2) training.  Please read the details below before registering.

BACKGROUND:

 Training is divided into two stages. Stage 1: Fundamentals of Tai Chi for Arthritis for Falls Prevention Instructor Training is a self-paced virtual program containing essential material to train effective and safe instructors. All you have to do is to follow the sequence with Dr Lam’s video guides for every step.

After completion of Stage 1 and practicing, you will be ready for Stage 2: This is a 1-day TCA/TCAFP Instructor Training Workshop to be eligible to become a Tai Chi for Health Institute (TCHI) Board Certified instructor. 

INFORMATION ABOUT THIS TRAINING:

When you register and pay for this workshop,  you will receive a link to the Stage 1 online package that you can complete in your own time and at your own pace. For this Stage 2 workshop (July 29, 2023), you must successfully complete Stage 1 before July 29, 2023. Stage 1 can take a person anywhere from 10-15 to 40-50 hours depending on your experience.  After completiion of stage 1, you will automatically receive a Certifcate of Completion of Stage 1. This is your "tickets to the Stage 2 training.

The Stage 2 workshop is personal. The Master Trainer will work with you to answer your questions about the program and tai chi routine, help you refine your tai chi movements, and help to ensure you can teach the program safely and effectively using the Stepwise Progressive Teaching Method.  There will be discussions, practice sessions, sharing skill and knowledge, Question and Answer portions, and most importantly, personal attention. The Master Trainer will give you feedback on what you did well and how you can improve your tai chi and teaching skills, connect you to the Tai Chi for Health Institute (TCHI), fellow instructors, Senior Trainers and offer continual support.

MATERIAL REQUIRED:

After your registration and payment for this training,  you will be sent a link to get access to the STAGE 1 Online Workshop course which can be used for 6 months (180 days) and includes:

  • Online Tai Chi Lessons subscription to Tai Chi for Arthritis/Tai Chi for Arthritis for Falls Prevention (normally priced at USD$19.95 for two months)
  • 14 instructional video clips by Dr Lam to guide you through every part.
  • 6 webinars by Dr Lam covering the topics and beyond (normally priced at US$15 each for 30 days)
  • References
  • Online Quizzes – Do them as many times as you like to refine your knowledge base
  • Guides to the Stage 2 virtual workshop

ADDITIONAL Notes:

-- For this training, you need to be seen "nose to toes" and be facing your camera's eye so the Master Trainer can help you refine and improve your delivery of the program.

-- Once you have sent the recording and Certificate of Completion to the Master Trainer, you will receive the Zoom link for the Stage 2 training workshop.

-- Please install Zoom software prior to the start of the event for the best experience. Download the Zoom software at: https://zoom.us/download

-- During the online workshop, you will need a strong internet connection and audio speakers to watch and listen to the Master Trainer and each other. You will also need a camera in your computer (or a webcam) and microphone, as well as space around you, so that you can practice and show your movements. You must be seen from head to toe. Smartphones are not acceptable since their visual field is too narrow.

-- AN HDMI cord can be used to connect your computer, notebook or tablet to a TV screen so you have a larger picture.

-- At the completion of the Stage 2 workshop, you will schedule a time to meet with your Master Trainer for two one-on-one Zoom sessions. If you have met the requirements to be a certified instructor, you will then receive an invitation from the TCHI Board to become a board certified instructor (annual fee of $40). If you have not met the requirements the Master Trainer will work with you to facilitate the process.
